Starr Bowers, also known as the “bankruptcy ninja,” specializes in kicking debt out of her clients’ lives and working closely with each individual client to find their personal best path to a fresh start. Born and raised in the small town of Shafer, Minnesota, Starr is Midwestern through and through. Having spent most of her adult life in the Hudson and Stillwater area, she can accessorize any outfit with a pair of winter boots, loves talking about the weather, and pronounces bag as “bayg” (though she claims she speaks just like the people on the TV). She currently lives in the lively town of Blue Earth where she resides with her husband Steve and four of their six children. When she isn’t working, she enjoys running, traveling, making fancy coffees and spending time with her granddaughter.
Starr’s legal career began in early 2000 as a paralegal intern for a law firm in Stillwater, Minnesota, in the Consumer Law Field. After graduating with an Associates Arts Degree and Legal Assistant Certificate from Century College, Starr realized her true calling was in bankruptcy law. Fueled by the bankruptcy legislation amendments of 2005, she enrolled in additional schooling to become a Certified Tax Preparer.
Starr joined the Nicolet Law Office team in 2008 as an experienced Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal and works hard to ensure that each client receives the very best representation with the highest standard of care and compassion. She strongly believes that each client deserves a fresh start and has dedicated her professional career to making that possible. Working closely with each file that comes through the door, Starr excels in her attention to detail and organizational skills making sure each file is ready for court filing and streamlining the bankruptcy process.
“I know from personal experience that financial adversity can be very stressful on a person; their job, their health, their family, and their relationships. I take great pleasure in helping each client so they can move forward with their life in a financially positive way.” – Starr Bowers
