Jake Smith grew up in a one-stoplight town in central Wisconsin before he took his big-city dreams to the booming metropolis of Menomonie, WI and attended UW-Stout. There, he majored in Journalism and did the very obvious and logical thing… joined a hardcore band and started touring the world.
During this road-dog era, Jake learned some valuable skills and life lessons; like how to perfectly Tetris a 4’ x 6’ trailer, how to swindle Chipotle into free burritos for fifteen people, and (most importantly) how to build lasting relationships with relative strangers.
After performing in four countries and most of the lower 48, Jake retired from the rock n’ roll life and worked for a health insurance company, starting in the call center and eventually working his way into a marketing and sales role. After a couple of years, he grew tired of watching regular folks be taken advantage of and moved on to a role with a community-focused magazine in the Chippewa Valley before beginning his journey with Nicolet Law.
