My journey to becoming a personal injury attorney dates back to the very early days of law school at St. Thomas. Through the school’s mentor program, I was paired with a personal injury attorney here in the Twin Cities. Admittedly, at that time personal injury hadn’t been an area of the law that had crossed my mind as a potential direction I would take my career. Nonetheless, I went into it with an open mind. The more I shadowed my mentor, the more I got to witness firsthand the impact that a personal injury attorney can truly have on people’s lives, and I started to envision this as my career path. One moment in particular that really resonated with me was a case involving a very young man who sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. Both he and his family had experienced tremendous hardship from this incident. When the case did eventually reach a settlement, the family was overwhelmed with emotions, hugging my mentor, and constantly telling him how thankful they were for everything he did for their family. From that moment on, I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of and advocate for people just like that family.
Prior to joining Nicolet Law, I practiced personal injury at two other medium-sized law firms in the Twin Cities. Along the way, I have gained valuable experience representing clients on a wide variety of personal injury matters. I take a lot of pride in actually getting to know my clients and building a bond with them so they feel like they have someone in their corner that they know they can trust and will fight for them.
