Lindsay Lien
Injury and Food Safety Attorney

Some might say you should “Work Smarter, Not Harder.” I believe in working both smarter and harder, and I am driven to do just that because I really care about my clients.

You may commonly hear personal injury lawyers referred to negatively as “ambulance chasers.” The truth is that no one wants to hire a lawyer until they need one. If you would have told that small town Wisconsin girl that she would go on to recover millions of dollars for the voiceless, the injured, and the aggrieved—I would have told you the last thing the world needed was another lawyer. But this work is my life’s passion and purpose.

Born and raised in a small farm town in Western Wisconsin, a half effort was never acceptable in my family. My parents, a Navy Veteran-turned salesman and hospital laboratory manager made sure that my sister and I always gave it our all. As a kid, I also had a keen sense of right and wrong. Justice mattered to me.

After living in Washington, DC, I returned to Minnesota and then went to law school, determined to use my law degree to really help others. I began my career by taking on “hard” cases that others might not—cases where insurance companies denied coverage, the medicine or science was complex, or where the law was less-than-favorable. I’ve handled car crashes, commercial trucking cases, dog bites, civil rights/police brutality cases, and fires and explosions. I find working for families who have lost loved ones due to the negligence of others particularly meaningful, because successfully handling legal claims can often provide some closure for those left to grieve.

Before joining Nicolet Law, my practice grew to include many food poisoning and product liability claims against major corporations. Food and products cases often involve added layers of complexity and strategy, and it is particularly rewarding to hold big companies liable for the harm they cause.

In some small way, I hope that I am changing the traditional image of a personal injury lawyer. Past clients have described me as “caring and sympathetic,” “competent, patient, kind, and ultimately successful,” and, in the words of one client, “one of the most tenacious women I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with.” While I am flattered, I am also glad to have left a positive impression on those who have trusted me with their cases.

If you’re looking for a lawyer that cares and is willing to fight for you, reach out. The Nicolet team and I’d love to help.

When I am not working, you can find me playing taxi driver for my two daughters. I also enjoy traveling, food, horses, tacky romance novels, and curating Spotify playlists. My partner, engineer Massoud Amin, and I live in Hudson.
