Truck crash claims the life of 66-year-old man

by | Sep 2, 2015 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents

According to authorities from Lomira, Wisconsin, a 66-year-old man recently died in a fatal truck collision that involved two semi-trucks, including one that was equipped with a tanker trailer filled with water. The incident happened at approximately 2:00 a.m., on Interstate 41 last week.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has indicated that the 26-year-old driver of the tanker truck escaped the collision unharmed, but the 66-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer died from injuries. The accident happened after the tanker truck driver tried to make a U-turn through the median of Interstate 41.

As the tanker truck moved into opposing lanes of traffic, the driver of the tractor-trailer was unable to avoid colliding with it. Unfortunately, the tractor-trailer driver was found dead at the crash site. Neither truck had any passengers riding inside them.

As of reports last week, the crash remained under investigation. The Dodge County Crash Investigation Team was conducting the investigation.

This tragic accident, which has resulted in the death of one man, will no doubt leave shockwaves of loss and difficult emotions among the people who knew the man, especially his family. The results of police investigations relating to the incident will help the man’s family deal with the loss of their loved one.

The results of a traffic accident investigation can support family members in their pursuit of wrongful death claims in cases where a fatal accident occurs. Still, just because someone is killed in a car accident does not necessarily mean that a viable personal injury case can be made. It is, therefore, necessary to gather as much evidence as possible relating to a case in order to fully evaluate the merits of its pursuit.
